Project:

GNSS RTK-Based RTG Crane Auto-Steering System

Location:

Kwang-Yang, South Korea (2002-2003)

Purpose:

Auto-steering of rubber-tired gantry (RTG) crane (differential wheels type) with cm level accuracy

Configuration:

1 reference GNSS station, 8 GNSS Rovers

Communications:

Local WiFi network

Details:

In an RTG crane auto-steering system, the calculated deviations of the front and rear wheels are fed into the programmable logic controller so that it can adjust the speed of the left and right wheels to keep the crane on track. As the most efficient and reliable way to accomplish this, GNT’s GNSS RTK technology was implemented for RTG auto-steering.
